"We’d like to call 'Over Abroad' an audio travel log."

The debut EP from indie rock and soul outfit Jackie Brown Jr is full of tight riffs, classy arrangements and big hooks.

Driven by the powerful vocals of lead singer and saxophonist Madeleine Mallis, the Sydney outfit have truly found their groove with Over Abroad, which isn’t something a lot acts manage to do with their release.

"We’d like to call Over Abroad an audio travel log,” Mallis told The Music.

“It's an exploration of your place in the world, what’s important, and who and what we choose to value.

“Every song is a homage to a time or place that’s had a huge relevance in my life but also has meaning to our collective lives and friendships as a band."

You can catch Jackie Brown Jr on tour throughout November and December; check out theGuide for all the details.
