In the lead-up to the event Nothing Has Changed, an event at they Opera House featuring multiple vocalists out front of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra performing the legacy of David Bowie, we grabbed Adalita to have a quick chat about all things Bowie.
Do you remember where you were when you heard Bowie had passed away? What was your reaction? A friend texted me. I couldn't believe it. I was completely lost for words and instantly started crying. It was such a heartbreaking moment. I've had a lot of dreams about Bowie since.
Can you narrow down your favourite Bowie track to just one? China Girl. Quintessential Bowie. He's on point, untouchable, utterly at the top of his game. And I love hearing the texture in his voice so up close and personal.
Have you performed with an orchestra before? What are you expecting from the night? No, never, not even a bit or a bit of one. So this will be all totally new for me. I expect the night to be absolutely grand and thrilling!

What made you choose the particular song(s) you're performing on the night? I've always loved these particular songs, they've stuck with me over time and resonate with me on a deep level. I'm so excited to get the chance to perform them.
Will you sing your songs true to the original or put your own spin on things? The original phrasing and vocal melodies are so good that I want to just do the best job I can of delivering the song as it was but with my overall presentation.
