We've Got Our Bluesfest Wishlist Together - Here Are The Collabs We Want To See In 2020

Can the Easter long weekend please hurry?

It's been an exciting couple of months of Byron Bay Bluesfest line-up announcements, with the likes of Dave Matthews Band, Patti Smith & Her Band, Crowded House and more joining the 2020 event.

While we've been assured there's plenty more to come for next year's line-up, we reckon it's time to start piecing our Bluesfest collaborations wishlist together. Let's make a deal - if we nail it, you buy us a beer at the festival. OK, great, see you there.

Patti Smith & Her Band and Ani DiFranco

Quite (Di) frankly, we will scream if this happens. The Godmother Of Punk joined by the fierce Ani DiFranco? We think we would die and go to Bluesfest heaven.

Brandi Carlile and John Butler

Okay, so just imagine Carlile's stunning track The Joke with a John Butler slide guitar underneath? Yeah, we'd be stoked too. Be prepared and bring along the tissues just in case that one happens.

Lenny Kravitz and Yola

Yola dropped her debut album, the Dan Auerbach-produced and released Walk Through Fire, earlier this year and goddamn, WHERE HAS THIS BEEN OUR WHOLE LIFE?! Whatever Yola is selling, we are now buying. We reckon that Lenny Kravitz will feel the same when he hears her voice at Bluesfest and will immediately ask the UK artist to join him on-stage.

John Prine and Jenny Lewis

Jenny Lewis knows a thing or two about working with the big names (have you seen her Just One Of The Guys video with the likes of Anne Hathaway, Brie Larson, Kristen Stewart and more?) We reckon she's more than perfect to join this big gun of Americana on-stage for a track at Bluesfest. Lewis is also well-versed in the Prine songbook having appeared at a Bon Iver curated event in 2017 paying tribute to the legend.

Dave Matthews Band and Crowded House

Now, these are two acts that know how to get a singalong going. We'll take one Crash Into Me/Weather With You mash-up, thank you Bluesfest!

Byron Bay Bluesfest takes place from 9-13 April 2020. Tickets are on sale now, head to theGuide for all the info.
