How did you get into the barber business? It was my dream to open a tattoo studio and barber shop together as both businesses would traditionally share a shop front in the early 20th century. We decided to add a record store into the mix as I have been collecting vinyl since the age of ten.

How long has the shop been running for? We first opened in February 2013.

What services do you specialise in? Dry cuts for men, women and children. Styles range from traditional barber cuts to longer hair and contemporary styles such as hair tattoos.

What makes your shop a cut above the rest? In addition to also housing a tattoo studio and record store, we also welcome all customers to hang out at the shop and be themselves without judgement.

Do you offer any extra services? Custom tattooing by our experienced artists plus a curated collection of rare, new and second-hand records.

What was the most memorable cut you have done? We've serviced many celebrities since opening. One time, a tipsy Brent [Hinds] from Mastodon wandered behind the barber chair to give his mate a beard trim. Unfortunately it didn't end well.

If you could cut/style the hair of any celebrity, who would it be and what would you give them? We've been lucky enough to already service many of our ultimate clients. Giving Chino [Moreno] from Deftones a fade at Soundwave before he hit the stage was definitely up there.
