Kali will be performing at the final instalment of Bacardis month long Fuego Revolutions party that has been warming up Melbourne and Sydney.
This weekend means one thing - the final instalment of the month long party Bacardi has been putting on called Fuego Revolutions. With a focus on analogue culture, they've tapped some of the best DJs and party starters from at home and abroad for a month long fiesta across Melbourne and Sydney.
If you've been lucky enough to get along to one before this, you'll most likely be wanting to go one last time. And if you're yet to get one, you'll definitely be wanting to get to these last couple. Whatever the case may be, punters are in luck because this weekend is shaping up to be one of the best yet as it features Darshan Jesrani of Metro Area.
Sydney will also have Andee Frost, Prequel and Jamie Bennett bringing the good vibes, whilst Melbourne will play host to Kali, Love Bombs and The Original Roman. To get you just that little bit more excited, we asked Kali to detail her top 5 favourite Metro Area tunes. Read on to find out more about her take on the unstoppable NYC act, and RSVP to the events HERE!

For me, Metro Area (NYC) are one of the most important acts in dance music. Late 90s/early 00s I was finally admitting to myself that I really, really loved house music. The music Darshan Jesrani + Morgan Geist were making as Metro Area really hit a major nerve with me (and was music that made me feel like all my influences made sense) and I wasn’t alone… Most other music lovers I knew couldn’t get enough their cool, soulful (but also very electronic) disco infused house music. It was music for everyone, and it was especially rare for producers at the time to not try and emulate their sound… Which I guess was the beginning of the nu-disco phenomenon, but long before that sound became ultra generic.
I met Darshan when Mad Racket brought him out to play in 2003 and we developed a friendship that lead to me touring him numerous times, and kind of starting Picnic with the first tour… The name came later, but it all really came from here and how high my inspiration levels ran at the time…Because of the music.
Here are my five favourite Metro Area tracks and one damn cheeky bootleg!
Metro Area – The Art Of Hot
Metro Area – Atmostphrique
Metro Area – Orange Alert (DFA Remix)
Metro Area – Strut
Crazy amazing cheeky bootleg of Metro Area “Caught Up” and Kings of Tomorrow “Finally”
