Album title? The Passage

Where did the title of your new album come from? Albums are like collections for me — kind of 'passages' in my life book, and also, the goal when I write is to transport listeners, so The Passage is like a portal into my imagination.

How many releases do you have now? Three worldwide: The Passage (2016), Two Sides To Every Story (2016) and Kid Dream (2010) plus two exclusive Japanese releases.

How long did it take to write/record? I'm always writing, so I started playing songs that are now on The Passage before the last album was released! The last song that made it to the album was written on our 2015 Australian tour.

Was anything in particular inspiring you during the making? I get inspired by lots of different things — Two songs on the album were based on bird calls from NSW, and others were inspired by people I've met or rhythms I've heard while travelling.

What's your favourite song on it? Passage. It's about how life can fly by so quickly that we only catch it after on our own rerun.

Will you do anything differently next time? Funny question! I have no formula, so every album is different from the next, but with my 'sound'. I admire artists that keep making art and stay true to themselves.

When and where is your launch/next gig? 10 Mar, Shirt Bar, Sydney; 14 Mar, Foundry616, Sydney; 20 Mar, Elwood Food & Wine, Melbourne; 21 Mar, The Retreat Hotel, Melbourne
