Album title? But You Are, But It Has

Where did the title of your new album come from? It's the backing vocal line from the track Cellophane, and sums up a lot of themes on the album. Finding some acceptance in things you really wish didn't happen so you can get moving again.

How many releases do you have now? The EP Humans in 2015 and now the album But You Are, But It Has, which just came out.

How long did it take to write/record? Exactly three years ago we started recording, and I had finished the writing before that. This included the Humans EP, too. They all started from the same cloth but were finished just before each release.

Was anything in particular inspiring you during the making? I was really inspired by my band Evan Mannell, Matt Keegan and Neal Sutherland, to work closely with them. And by my husband Richie B who I produced it with, learning to collaborate better.

What's your favourite song on it? Busy Being Sad probably. That was the great challenger to nail and really extended me even from the writing stage.

Will you do anything differently next time? Oh yes, I can see lots of reaction to it already in where I'm heading next but there will be similarities, I have lots of education to implement, it's exciting!

When and where is your launch/next gig? 31 Mar, Oxford Arts Factory; 6 Apr, Welsey Anne. Both with full band and Darling James supporting
