Album title? The Mercy Of The Tide
Where did the title of your new album come from? I was in Brisbane during the 2011 floods. In fact, my place went completely under water. The experience was surreal and transformative, making me realise we're all at the mercy of the tide sometimes.
How many releases do you have now? I released two EPs with my previous duo, thewhiskeyarchive, and one solo EP. The Mercy Of The Tide was my first full album.

How long did it take to write/record? The songs were written over three years but the recording was pretty quick. Bass, drums, uke and vocals were done in a few days. It was a beautiful crazy blur of music and coffee!
Was anything in particular inspiring you during the making? The musicians I worked with on the album were amazing! Both my band - George [Borthwick] and Seb [Jego] - and all the guests who worked on it. Every one of them added something special to it.
What's your favourite song on it? Tough question! Most days it's the single, Rising Sun. Today, it's Penelope's Call - the cello sounds like whale song!
Will you do anything differently next time? We're taking our time recording the next one, giving ourselves space to breathe - and more coffee! The working title is Second Life and it'll focus more on my core band.
When and where is your launch/next gigs? 11 May, Wesley Anne. We're playing with Accidental Bedfellows and Girl Friday. We launched my album there and I'm really excited about playing there again!
