Four years later...

Iceage captivated the small but keen crowd in Brisbane.

Iceage are a band of brutal honesty, and they're not apologetic about it. These Denmark lads aren’t afraid to reject unnecessary questions, to disregard media controversies and, most importantly, to let their music speak for itself -and it’s clear to anyone that’s ever heard an Iceage song that their abrasive outpours of tension and emotion need no explanation. Despite that, we spoke to singer Elias Bender Rønnenfelt about their new LP 'Plowing Into the Field of Love', their recent dalliance down under and those pesky fascist rumours. 

Did Iceage come all the way from Denmark just to fuck with whoever turned up at their first-ever Australian shows?

"We’re not rock dinosaurs ... We’re still in some kind of artistic progression."

And has he's got some mixed feelings about touring as well.

“I don’t think something new that we hadn’t thought about came of seeing all the other bands play. We saw a lot of good bands and some poor ones in between."

You’re Nothing is the sound of a one-time hype band making good on their indubitable promise.

The record does everything right, doesn’t outstay its welcome and confronts the listener; there’s little chance fans won’t adore this punk, guttural torrent of noise.
