Burgeoning Sydney-based artist Dom Youdan is unveiling the music video for his stellar debut track, Don't Love Me, which we at theMusic.com.au are proud to be premiering today.

Directed by up-and-coming filmmakers Jack Shepherd and Lena Buchanan, the clip follows two lovers stroll through the streets of Sydney, depicting the often-harsh reality of love; a theme Youdan wanted to showcase to reflect the song's meaning.

"One of the things that really surprises me with a lot music videos is that they try and tell a new story," the London-born songwriter said.

"We wanted to make sure this video reflected the song’s sentiment, and I'm really proud that we've been able to do that."

Youdan says of Don't Love Me, "This song captures the whirlwind of an early relationship, but also highlights the insecurities we all feel.

"I worked with close friend and fiercely talented Bec Sandridge, to really represent a female's perspective in the second verse. The sentiment needed to be unilateral and androgynous."

Don't Love Me is the first single from Youdan's forthcoming EP, Tigerlily, set for release this September.

Sydney fans can next catch Youdan's live show at Oxford Circus on 25 August.
