PREMIERE: Michael David Thomas - There Must Be Something Else

Erudite troubadour Michael David Thomas — a former lawyer and ex-member of Breaking Hart Benton, in another life — is embarking on yet another new chapter in his ever-evolving career, cutting the cord and going it solo on a forthcoming debut EP.

Ahead of that release, though, theMusic.com.au is stoked to be able to share with you the premiere of the video clip for his very first single under his own moniker, There Must Be Something Else, a melancholy film-noirish piece that's all greyscale and introspection and House Of Brothers-meets-Iron & Wine-style folksy magnetism — and a cracking tease for whatever else Thomas has up his sleeve for his future releases.

Along with the spreading of his solo wings, Thomas has also become the third-ever signing to Airlock Records (run by ex-Powderfinger player Ian Haug), through whom the impending EP will be released.
