More Calexico More Calexico

Their eighth studio album, Edge Of The Sun was released last week to critical acclaim.

And now, US indie rock group Calexico have followed it up with a new video for their single off the record, Falling From The Sky.

The near four minute clip follows a day in the life of what appears to be a life size worm, who virtually can do nothing but watch the world go by, aided only by Swedish indie-folk singer Jose Gonzalez, who randomly stars.

You'd be forgiven for thinking the creature in question looks like something else — anything else. No need to be vulgar.

Video director Mikel Cee Karlsson touched on the concept behind the film clip.

"I wanted to make it [the worm] more like a living thing...a creature that is stuck in its codependency and has rather few possibilities in this world but still has the capacity to dream of better things."

"When I heard Calexico's 'Falling From The Sky' I felt that I heard the perspective of the creature, or rather the perspective of anyone who find themselves in a similar mindset or situation."

Give the new film clip a look here and chat amongst yourselves if that really is Ben Stiller in a framed picture next to Gonzalez about half way through the video.
