Video Video - Genesis

Melburnian electro-pop outfit Video Video — who came together out of the ashes of outfits such as The Blow Waves and The Mavis's — have unveiled Genesis, their long-overdue second single and clip on the back of 2010's Berlin Berlin, ahead of their forthcoming debut LP's release.

The band — centred on the core duo of The Blow Waves' Byron St John and Matt Doll Thomas (also of The Mavis's), playing alongside Matthew Sigley — bring out the best of the 1980s with their zeitgeist-savvy compositions, all post-goth sparkle and uneasy sheen set against a lyrical bittersweetness and churning, dark undercurrents. The clip takes an especially ominous turn towards its conclusion, but — save for the presence of a dog dressed like ET — we don't want to spoil anything unnecessarily for you. Just watch the clip and feel your emotions fight each other.

Video Video's debut full-length, Planet Of Storms, doesn't have a specific release date just yet, but you can check out both singles to date on the band's iTunes page.
