More Saskwatch More Saskwatch

Melburnian alt-soul collective Saskwatch are entering the home stretch in the lead-up to the release of their newest studio full-length, Sorry I Let It Come Between Us, and theMusic.com.au is stoked to be hosting the premiere airing of the video clip for their freshly dropped new single, I'll Be Fine.

The video was animated by respected visual artist Jason Galea, who has previously handled the creative aesthetic for an absolute slew of clips for King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, as well as contemporaries such as Dorsal Fins and The Murlocs. This isn't Galea's first collaboration with the Saskwatch crew, either, having previously worked with the outfit on their clip for Call Your Name, taken from last year's Nose Dive full-length, as well as on 2013's Hands.

The retro-inspired, perpetually malleable animation is an appropriate complement to the song's deep, fuzzed-out grooves and sharp horn interludes, the total sum a welcome hint of an album-length package of considered and mature alt-soul jams, not shy on youth and vitality even staring down the barrel of album number three.

It's a slightly switched-up prospect that's staring back at us, however, with the announcement coming today that founding members Will Morrissey, Sam Boon, Nic Glenie and Ed Crocker — who between them provide rhythmic and brass-based flavour to the Saskwatch aural soup — will be departing the band to pursue other projects.

They'll kick things off at Sydney's Oxford Art Factory on Friday, 17 April, and — in addition to their scheduled GTM shows in Oakbank, Bunbury, Bendigo, Canberra, Maitland and Townsville — further headline shows in Brisbane (The Zoo, 18 April) and Melbourne (The Hi-Fi, 8 May).
