PREMIERE: Naked Bodies - Dirty Plate Blues

2 March 2015 | 3:10 pm | Staff Writer

Melbourne outfit Naked Bodies have spent the better part of the past three years honing their stage chops and earning a reputation as one of the nation's more magnetic, enthralling live acts doing the rounds.

Now, the Victorian outfit — led by former Little Red bassist Quan Dingh — are all set to take their career to the next level as they prepare to release their debut LP, Piranha, and set off in support of the new work later this year, but before any of that gets under way, theMusic.com.au is privileged to be premiering for you today the band's brand new clip for fresh single and Piranha cut Dirty Plate Blues.

As its title suggests, Dirty Plate Blues is all rough-n-ready garage blues action, though the wider album, which was self-recorded with mixing duties handled by Nao Anzai (Montero, Twin Beasts, Ground Components), promises to be a more eclectic affair, with sounds and spectra drawn from diverse genres such as "sarcastic guitar pop", "death confessional", both "devolution" and "insolent nah-nah" blues, and even a "gay Frankenstein society parade" (alternatively "psycho-art-rock") track, which is not a term we're overly familiar with, but nonetheless sounds super-intriguing and fun as hell.

Naked Bodies set out for a tour in support of Piranha, which hits shelves on 3 April via MGM, in June. Get amongst the cacophonous, share-house rock-out of Dirty Plate Blues, above, and keep your eyes on theGuide or The Music App for more details when they come to light.
