PREMIERE: The Reversals - Squeeze

23 January 2015 | 11:31 am | Staff Writer

Brisbane's The Reversals have undergone significant evolution and maturation in their relatively short career span, having grown beyond their introspective folk-rock roots to bolster the tempo and catchiness considerably and develop into super-slick purveyors of feelgood pop-rock — and the change has served them well.

If you're looking for evidence, you need search no further than the band's newest single Squeeze, the video clip for which we are stoked to be premiering here on theMusic.com.au today. An infectious chorus melody, pervasive sense of ebullience and urgency and, yes, even an undeniable clap-along all conspire to create three-and-a-bit minutes of uplifting ear-friendly goodness that should certainly serve to pique your interests if this style is your scene.

And if it is your scene, then you're in luck — The Reversals are just about to hit the road in support of Squeeze, with a home-town show at Rick's Bar this Sunday, 25 January, before they head to Sydney, Newcastle, Adelaide, Melbourne, the Gold Coast (for a spot at Bleach Festival), a return show in Brisbane and the last hurrah at the Sunshine Coast's Buderim Tavern on Friday 27 March.
