More Dallas Crane More Dallas Crane

Venerated veteran Melburnian rockers Dallas Crane are gearing up for the impending release of their long-awaited fifth studio full-length with a very special album preview tour kicking off this weekend, but before they hit the road, they're premiering the new clip for their recent earworm of a single, Get Off The Dope, right here on theMusic.com.au.

It's been several years — nearing on a decade, in fact — since we last saw a Dallas Crane full-length (2006's Factory Girls), but if Get Off The Dope is anything to go by, the band have staved off the threat of complacency by delivering an accessible, engaging single, rich in maturity, refinement and sense of purpose.

Get among the brand new, super-tripped-out visual goods above, then turn your attention to the live arenas in which you can catch the long-serving outfit in action: they hit The Flow Bar in Old Bar this Thursday, 22 January, and head up to Sydney (Newtown Social Club, Friday, 23 January) and Brisbane (New Globe Theatre, Saturday, 24 January), before heading home again to play The Corner (Sunday, 25 January) and wrap up in Adelaide (Jive Bar, Monday, 26 January). Although there's not yet a concrete release date for the forthcoming album, vocalist Dave Larkin says the band's new album "will be released in the second half of 2015".
