L-FRESH The LION - Close Your Eyes

Celebrated Sydney-based hip-hop luminary L-FRESH The LION has released the video for his recent single Close Your Eyes, featuring Jess Starreveld and Michael McGlynn, taken from his acclaimed full-length, One.

The clip, directed by Vanna Seang of Roar Footage, focuses on themes of love and the choices people make in experiencing, developing, nurturing and — painfully — losing it.

As you might expect, there's a poignancy and general emotionality that permeates throughout, as the cast — Jodie Clarke, Jemwel Danao, Will Gabriel Piper, Amanda Marsden, Ly Heang Seang, Norn Seang, Adam Dunn and Ramos Jacob — inhabit stories of conflict and unconditional love, whether from our friends, our parents, our partners, our siblings, our children. It's genuinely evocative and moving stuff, set to a sublime slice of sophisticated hip-hop with a soaring chorus, and we can't recommend it enough.
