Among an eclectic mix of acts shortlisted for the Carlton Dry Global Music Grant is young MC Remi, whose debut album, Raw X Infinity, helped put him in the running for the $50,000 prize.
With plans to tour abroad later this year, winning the grant would go a long way, and would potentially give way for the Melbournite to collaborate with some other acts.
We caught up with Remi after the announcement to chat about being shortlisted and what $50,000 would mean for his music.
The recipient of the 2014 Carlton Dry Global Music Grant will be unveiled Wednesday 8 October. Check out the full list of the awards' nominees here.
