On the whole though, the album is more intriguing oddity than pop masterpiece.

Live electronic music duo Ghost Beach have been teasing their debut album for a while now, with three EPs dropping last year, yet how does Blonde stand up to these self-described 'tropical grit-poppers'? Tropical is certainly right, with virtually every song recalling a particularly pixelated Miami sunset. Hooks and synthy dance grooves have been applied liberally. The album owes much to Talking Heads and Peter Gabriel's poppier work and will surely satisfy fans of '80s pop music. On the whole though, the album is more intriguing oddity than pop masterpiece.
