Under The Volcano is big yet intimate, ambitious yet restrained, epic yet reined in – a delicate balance that yields plenty of grand gestures without the pomposity.

Three English brothers from Bath, The Family Rain throw back to the classic '60s blues rock of their homeland while embracing some of the grander and more theatrical aesthetics of recent years. Under The Volcano is a combination that creates an exciting new twist on both influences. It's also a reminder that there's still plenty of life left in the rocking three-piece combo of guitar, bass and drums. Under The Volcano is big yet intimate, ambitious yet restrained, epic yet reined in – a delicate balance that yields plenty of grand gestures without the pomposity.
