Album Review: Harmony - Diminishing Returns

Commencing with the adventurous title track, Diminishing Returns employs an echoing, art-rock aesthetic in the vein of Grizzly Bear.

More Harmony More Harmony

Commencing with the adventurous title track, Diminishing Returns employs an echoing, art-rock aesthetic in the vein of Grizzly Bear. However it's mostly unique, even incorporating some gospel elements, more-so in follow-up track, Cut Myself Clean. This dark, mournful recording slowly launches into a clanging cacophony. Each of these experimental tracks is strongly evocative, inducing just a tinge of nostalgia. High, off-key choral vocals produce an otherworldly yet earthly feel, stirring up wonderful imagery that will be unique to each listener. They play 19 Nov at The Residence, Melbourne Music Week; 19 Dec at The Gasometer Hotel.
