What's the song about? Whilst being a protest song, it's also a salute to the daily grind, and the majority of the people.
How long did it take to write/record? It took about two years of being immersed in the grind to come to this point of inspiration, and about six months between writing and recording.
Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? This is a standalone single release, the first solo release ahead of a solo album.
What was inspiring you during the song's writing and recording? I'd been working a lot for some time, not really taking breaks, so I was feeling the grind more than ever and there was a desire to be recording. So that became the inspiration.
We'll like this song if we like... Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac or World Party. We took inspiration from this era of music in the studio.
Do you play it differently live? It comes across pretty differently solo, with the band it's pretty similar
When and where is your launch/next gig? Launching in Perth, at Badlands on Apr 20 with Helen Shanahan, The Little Lord Street Band, Xanthea and Simone & Girlfunkle.
