Best record you stole from your folks’ collection? After the Gold Rush - Neil Young. This album moves through so many styles without hesitation. Great songwriting.

First record you bought? The Real Thing - Faith No More. This album transformed what I thought I knew about rock formats! And then came (Mr) Bungle! I love their no apologies approach to a mid-phrase genre shift.

Record you put on when you’re really miserable? If I’m indulging in my misery: Jen Buxton. Such feels. If I want to feel better, then I’ll listen to albums by my friends’ bands - Boom!Bap!Pow!, Grim Fandango, Moana; listening to people I love feels like a big music hug.

Record you put on when you bring someone home? Hmm, probably something fun to start, like Pavement or The Replacements. Then Eels or Perth’s The Lunettes. Ultimate slow dance.

Most surprising record in your collection? The Bee Gees. Best hangover album ever. Those ridiculous vocals are a ticket to sweet Disney delirium.

Last thing you bought/downloaded? Rag n’ Bone - A Woman Under the Influence EP. So many incredible songwriters in this city. Support them!

When and where are your next gigs? 20 May, Jimmy’s Den; 21 May, Four5Nine Bar.
