Single title? Exorcism

What’s the song about? Debt slavery. Fear. Religion. Depression. Searching for some kind of emotional congruency. It’s the quintessential good times party song.

How long did it take to write/record? Exorcism took Emily and I a day or two to write. And a day in the studio to record. But mixing it ended up being Chinese water torture. We feel it was worth it though.

Is this track from a forthcoming release/existing release? No. We have a bunch of new material up our sleeves – some of which was recorded during the same sessions as Exorcism, some of which we’ll be heading into the studio with soon.

What was inspiring you during the song’s writing and recording? Corona. Summer. A vintage 1970s Rogers drum kit and a studio full of amazing boutique recording gear. Waking up to that every day for a week is pretty much our idea of paradise.

We’ll like this song if we like... Always being the first one to order a round of shots on a night out. Vaseline. Taking care of business.

Do you play it differently live? We stick to the studio version. It’s not a song that obviously lends itself to different arrangements, etc.

When and where is your launch/next gig? 31 Oct, Ding Dong Lounge.
