1. The resurgence in the music industry as a result of streaming, allowing more emerging artists to gain exposure to a larger audience.
2. The continuation of surprise album releases...getting weeks or even days notice before your favourite artist drops an album can be the most exhilarating way to experience an album's release.
3. The "boyband" Brockhampton emerging from nowhere to drop 2 (set to be 3) impeccable genre-twisting albums within the space of 12 months. 
4. The amount of quality content discussing the happenings of the music industry being produced by major players in the arena. Content such as Tidal's RapRadar podcast and Complex's Blueprint web series have allowed intimate, all-access knowledge about the people behind the most influential music we are hearing.

Prediction for 2018

I think the lines between artists' social and private lives will become increasingly blurred with more and more avenues of social interaction through podcasts, social media and live streaming.
