Beers and lances - what more could you want!

20,000 punters will descend upon Sydney's St Ives Showground this September for the fifth annual St Ives Medieval Faire.

The two day celebration of medieval history on 22 and 23 September, is held in high regard amongst re-enactors for its authenticity and will host the International Solid Lance Jousting Tournament featuring Lady Caroline, the first female jouster ever in the competition.

Australia's first all-female brewing team Two Birds Brewing have even created three custom ales for the event, including a golden ale named in Lady Caroline's honour.

There will be birds of prey demonstrations, archery displays, Australia's only giant trebuchet catapult and over 350 living history re-enactors with fully interactive encampments.
