Police are investigating.

Sydney hip hop artist Scepaz, real name Jett McKee, has been identified as the person killed following a violent altercation in Forest Lodge last week.

According to ABC, detectives are now investigating whether the 30-year-old's death was the result of a bungled house invasion, after a replica gun, knuckle dusters and balaclava were found on the road where he died.

It is reported that McKee could be heard arguing with a man and woman inside a home on Friday and soon after, witnesses say they saw a man stumbling down the street with blood pouring down his face before he collapsed.

Witnesses also claim they saw the man and woman chase McKee down the road, with the man pulling out a Samurai sword.

Police are still looking for the man and woman in question, but know their identities.

McKee co-founded Sydney-based independent hip hop label Sub Conscious Records in 2007 alongside Dseeva.

The local rapper has released a handful of LPs and mixtapes since then, including last year’s The Last Temptation with Bhoky101.
