After another stand-out performance on The Voice last night, loop artist Sam Perry has been warned by judge Boy George of "losing who you are".

The WA musician was voted into the next round after performing Madonna's Like A Prayer and following his showing, George, who was criticised for previously saying Perry is "not really a singer", shared his thoughts.

"My worry is that you're going so far away from your original blind audition," George said.

"Almost losing who you are, that's the only thing I'm worried about.

"You are so cool. One of the coolest acts that's been on this show. Don't lose that coolness."

George admitted that his comments about Perry not being a singer were off the mark.

"I did say you weren't a singer, that was wrong of me, I admit that."

He continued, "I'm worried about losing who you are, because that's what makes you unique."

Perry thanked George for his comments and insisted that looping and beatboxing will always be a big part of his performance.

"I came here to loop… at the same time, I came here to turn songs on their head," he said.

"At the end of the day, whatever happens after this show, I'm gonna go back to beatboxing and looping, there's no doubt."

Meanwhile, former Sony-signed singer Trent Bell also advanced to the next round after performing Shawn Mendes' In My Blood.
