Support Act Launches Groundbreaking Music Industry Wellbeing Helpline

Already going above and beyond to assist members of the Australian music industry during times of hardship, charity organisation Support Act has detailed plans for Australia's first 24/7 wellbeing helpline.

The new initiative was unveiled in Sydney during Support Act’s annual fundraising luncheon, Music In The House, to a wealth of praise, and will offer professional counselling, free of charge, to those in the industry who need assistance for whatever reason.

The helpline, which is completely confidential, will be open to anyone in music in Australia and will see mental health professionals who understand the music industry and its unique challenges help those in need.

The launch is being assisted by contributions from The Tony Foundation, Levi Strauss Australia alongside donations from yesterday's luncheon.

Support Act is also looking to open a music centre in Melbourne, needing $150K to put them on the ground in the city for three years.

Yesterday's event honoured Archie Roach and featured performances from Paul Kelly, Emma Donovan and more, with Support Act confirming they've so far raised $200K.
