'Swervin' For Mervin'.

A benefit is set to go ahead next week in honour of beloved music industry figure, 'Swervin' Merv McCasker.

McCasker, who has served as site manager for a number of seminal events and festivals such as Big Day Out, Good Vibrations and Parklife, was recently diagnosed with inoperable cancer.

McCasker has since been told that chemotherapy is unlikely to extend his life beyond the limited time he has been given and other treatments are not yet covered by Medicare or the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.

Funds raised from the upcoming benefit, taking place at Beresford Hotel in Sydney on 8 May, will go towards paying for the treatments.
