Following a hugely-successful NYE concert, ​Ian "Molly" Meldrum​ says there is a "possibility" Countdown​ will be coming back to Australian TV screens soon.

Appearing on Studio 10​ this week, the beloved music industry icon said the TV show could be revived on the ABC; the same network that aired the NYE tribute. 

"There is a possibility there will be a new Countdown​. All young performers, all young presenters," Meldrum said.

"It'll hopefully be in the same timeslot, 6-7 on the Sunday night, repeated on the Saturday.
