New live music venue alert!

The Music can exclusively reveal today that the beloved Brightside carpark is graduating to become its own fully-fledged music venue by the name of The Valley Drive In.

Whether it’s through a gig or a futsal tournament, Brisbane music lovers will be very familiar with the Fortitude Valley carpark.

Up until this point, it has welcomed a plethora of performances from the likes of Dune Rats, DZ Deathrays, WAAX and a stack more as well as acting as a home for festivals such as The Blurst Of Times and BIGSOUND.

The demand for the asphalt area has become so large that venue booker Cael Johnston says that the time is now for the space to step out on its own.

“We've found that so many artists and promoters are looking to put on a show that simply cannot be experienced inside a traditional live space and we feel that this venue will give punters an evening that they will never forget,” Johnston says.

The Valley Drive In is now fully licensed and will be decked out with its own permanent staging and production, ready to welcome acts and festivals alike throughout the remainder of 2018.
