Set to perform in Australia this month, US outfit The Lemonheads will be well prepared when fans yell out for them to perform their famous cover of Simon & Garfunkel classic, Mrs Robinson.

Speaking to The Music, frontman Evan Dando admitted it wouldn't be the first time if fans requested them to perform the 1992 cover during their upcoming shows, which also includes some A Day On The Green sets and a spot at Twilight At Taronga.

However, Dando has some tricks up his sleeve to deal with the request.

"We’ll have, like, auditions at sound check or something and do those contests… if people really wanna hear Mrs Robinson - don’t wanna sing it, but if someone wants to come and sing it and win the contest, you know, then come to soundcheck.

"We’ll just have everyone who wants to sing it come to soundcheck and see what happens," Dando laughed.

"And I’ll go out and pick some people. Cool."

The Lemonheads will kick off the A Day On The Green shows in Rothbury with The Living End, Veruca Salt, Spiderbait and more; click on theGuide for more details.
