U2 are on their way to yet another #1 Australian album with their 14th studio LP, Songs Of Experience.

According to midweek figures, the legendary Irish rockers' new record is expected to debut in the top five of the ARIA Albums chart and challenge for top spot against P!nk's Beautiful Trauma and Taylor Swift's Reputation.

If successful, U2 will clinch their 9th #1 album in Australia and their first since 2009's No Line On The Horizon.

It comes just a week after the band revealed they are planning to bring their Joshua Tree anniversary tour to Australia in 2018.
