A man has been left with serious injuries after he was allegedly attacked by a pack of teenagers after leaving the MTV Beats & Eats festival in Wollongong on Saturday.

As Fairfax reports, ten teenagers allegedly assaulted Dean Allison who was on his way home after celebrating his birthday at the event with his cousin.

The 28-year-old is currently unable to work after being left with two fractured eye sockets and a number of broken bones. He is now waiting to have stabilised metal plates inserted into his face.

His cousin, Danny, was left unconscious for about four minutes after the alleged altercation.

"I have a constant headache," Allison said.

"It feels like there's heaps of pressure behind my eyes from all the swelling.

"I'm not allowed to pick up [five-month-old son] Ashton, because it could affect the fractures in my face.

"We're living off my wage and now I'm going to be off work so it's going to be a bit stressful, worrying about all that. I'll know on Thursday when I'll get the surgery done, but it will be months."

The alleged altercation reportedly started after Allison spotted the group of teenagers vandalising road signs and letterboxes while walking home.

"Danny said, 'C'mon boy … you can’t be doing that," Allison recalled.

"We had to walk past them, and just started getting punched to the side of the head.

"I was down on all fours and they were kicking me and punching me in the back of the head. That’s all I can really remember."

MTV Australia has addressed the allegations In a statement given to The Music today.

"We were very saddened to hear about the attack on Dean Allison, and our thoughts are with him and his family as he recovers," the statement reads.

"Maintaining a safe environment at our events is our number one priority, and it was very upsetting to learn what occurred after he departed Stuart Park. We encourage anyone who witnessed the attack to contact the Wollongong police department on 02 4226 7899."

Police are currently investigating and have since arrested four teenagers in relation to the matter.

The 2017 MTV Beats & Eats festival included sets from names such as Tkay Maidza, Nicole Millar and Yolanda Be Cool.
