Robert Plant, Lionel Richie & Tash Sultana Lead First Announce For Bluesfest 2018

Bluesfest has just dropped a bombshell, today announcing the first bunch of acts for the 2018 line-up… and it's a freakin' doozy. 

Leading the first announce is iconic Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant who will head to Byron Bay with The Sensastional Space Shifters in what will be Zeppelin's 50th anniversary since their first-ever performance.

The milestone will be celebrated by Plant performing a number of the band's iconic hits. 

Also confirmed for the festival is US legends Lionel Richie, The New Power Generation and CHIC featuring Nile Rodgers, as well as Aussie favourites, Tash Sultana and The John Butler Trio

"Well here it is, the first of our announcements for Bluesfest 2018, and what an announcement it is," Bluesfest director, Peter Noble, said.

"Lionel Richie, Robert Plant, The New Power Generation, CHIC featuring Nile Rodgers, Jose Gonzalez, First Aid Kit plus two of Australia's greatest artists The John Butler Trio and Tash Sultana, who is on fire right now.

"There is lots more from Morcheeba, the amazing Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real! Eric Gales and the California Honeydrops returning by popular demand from the last festival. We have lots of Blues in this announcement too… and we are just getting started. We are going to have a great festival in 2018! Hope to see you there."
