Melbourne Music Weeks Unveils Huge First Program Announce For 2017

It's back this November.

Making its return this November, Melbourne Music Week (MMW) has today unveiled the first details of its 2017 program, including the annual Face The Music summit and The Age Victoria Music Awards.

Taking place from 17-25 November, MMW is set to captivate the city with a number of showcases and performances including Miscellanea; a multi-label takeover of the iconic Melbourne Town Hall which will feature sets from the likes of experimental music duo HTRK, Underground Lovers, Tyrannamen, Loose Tooth, Taipan Tiger Girls, friendships and CORIN, in collaboration with Milk! Records, Wondercore Island, Aarght Records, Heavy Machinery Records and Chapter Music.

Meanwhile, acclaimed US singer-songwriter Ariel Pink will bring his 11th studio album, Dedicated To Bobby Jameson, to MMW to coincide with his newly-announced appearance at this year's Face The Music, alongside names such as The Ramones drummer, Marky Ramone and Toronto DJ, rapper and actor, Chippy Nonstop.

The Age Music Victoria Awards will celebrate its 12th year in style too, with the announcement that Harvey Sutherland will take on headlining duties for the event, while Gold Class and Cable Ties will also perform.

The EG Allstars will also take to the stage for the party, alongside some huge guest singers such as Archie Roach, Gretta Ray, Jim Lawrie, Josh Teskey, Mojo Juju, Michelle Nicolle, Birdz and Ella Thompson.

Melbourne laneway party ZOO will also return this year, with performances confirmed from big acts such as Briggs and international guests, Fatima & Alexander Nut, Weird Together and AFTA-1.
