They even cracked the top five on two.

Revered Australian deathcore outfit Thy Art Is Murder have made a noteworthy impact across multiple Billboard charts in the US this week, with their new album Dear Desolation landing in the top 20 on four separate rankings.

The band's best result comes from the Hard Rock albums chart, where they've smashed through to the top five with their newest LP taking the #3 position in its first week, matching the result achieved by previous full-length Holy War. They also entered inside the top five on the Independent albums chart, emerging at #4 on debut.

Their next-best effort was realised on the Tastemaker albums chart (ooh-la-la), cracking the top 10 to land at #7, while on the Rock albums list, they're comfortably inside the top 20 at #15.

Thy Art have also made two more notable entries this week — on the Top Album Sales ladder, they've come in at #22, well outranking Holy War's peak of #44, while they're also inside the first half of the Top 200 albums chart, Dear Desolation entering at #95.

They're joined in the US rankings by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, who return to the Billboard charts on this week's Heatseekers (#7) and Independent albums (#29) charts with their new effort with Mild High Club, Sketches Of Brunswick East.

It's a bit of a softer landing than the band enjoyed for their earlier releases this year, Murder Of The Universe and Flying Microtonal Banana, which hit #1 and #2 on the Heatseekers list respectively (while 2016 album Nonagon Infinity peaked at #4), but it's nonetheless an impressive result for the humble experimental psych-rock torchbearers.

The results couldn't come at a more opportune moment for Thy Art Is Murder if they tried, being in the midst of a tour of the United States before they head to Europe and the UK in late September through October.

Dear Desolation is out now through Nuclear Blast Entertainment/Human Warfare.
