And no one dared disturb the sound of silence.

Australia’s leading singer-songwriter-admirer night will be settling in at Melbourne’s The Toff In Town for a month long residency this October.

Running since 2012, Hush: An Evening of Quiet Music has taken to cathedrals and town halls all across the country, and even had a stint at the Victorian Parliament Building.

The Toff In Town crowd will be cast into silent appreciation each Wednesday in October, with things kicking off on the fourth. This year, the likes of Davey Lane, Braille Face and Emma Russack will be keeping things on the down low, along with a whole host of other excellent artists.

In pin-drop silence, Hush provides a platform for songwriters to showcase their new ideas, welcomed by a happily hushed audience in an otherwise noisey world.

In the face of gigs typically drowned out by drunken tomfoolery at the back of the room, the award-winning night proves the perfect breeding ground for great new tracks in a supportive, comfortable environment.
