The eagerly awaited Australian tour for US industrial heavyweights Ministry with special guests Filter has been called off.

According to a statment from Filter, the cancellation comes "due to circumstances beyond our control", with the band assertively saying: "It is not our fault."

Although the band say they hope to reschedule sent their apologies and thanks to their fans, it appears as though the reasons for the tour's axing are to be found within Ministry camp.

"Ministry couldn't make it work for whatever reason," Filter said. "We love [Ministry frontman] Al [Jourgensen] and company but this really sucks."

"We were … ready to play," they added. "Our fans in Australia were coming, we got a call that Ministry couldn't make it work. So the tour was canceled."

Jourgensen and Ministry have not publicly commented on the cancellation, though the impending dates in Australia (and Singapore, which also loses out) have been removed from Ministry's pages and tickets are no longer on sale.

The Music has contacted Ticketmaster for further information regarding the tour and ticket refunds.
