Melbourne-based songwriter Lisa Mitchell went ahead with her show in Manchester just hours ago following the fatal bombing at Ariana Grande's gig yesterday

The English-born artist's performance took place at the Eagle Inn, just minutes away from Manchester Arena where the attack took place, killing 22 people.

"Just a note to say that we will go ahead with our show tonight in Manchester, with the deepest respect to all who have been affected," Mitchell said in a statement posted on Facebook just hours before her show.

Mitchell isn't the only musician to push forward with UK dates, with names such as Celine Dion, Guns N' Roses, Iron Maiden and Phil Collins all committing to scheduled gigs in the country over the coming weeks, according to The Daily Telegraph

Meanwhile, US music icon Blondie and England's own Take That cancelled shows scheduled for last night out of respect for the victims of the attack.

It was yesterday reported that Grande has suspended her world tour indefinitely and it is currently unclear if her Australian shows in September will go ahead.
