God bless you this day.

More Dan Cribb More Dan Cribb

Dan Cribb can't live the buttoned-down life like you. He wants it all: the terrifying lows, the dizzying highs, the creamy middles.

Sure, he might offend a few of the blue-noses with his cocky stride and musky odours; oh, he'll never be the darling of the so-called "city fathers" who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about, "What's to be done with this punk musician?"

But, in addition to being a heck of a co-worker — he's The Music's WA editor, FYI — he does damn good contemporary arrangements of songs from The Simpsons. So, here's his latest cover of a tune from the show, released as part of his ongoing Worst Tribute Ever project, featuring the supremely talented and eminently enchanting Ecca Vandal.

The pair have taken on Happy Birthday, Lisa — from season-three classic Stark Raving Dad — which was originally written by the King Of Pop himself, Michael Jackson, and performed by singer Kipp Lennon. As you may recall, the episode very nearly spawned a sequel featuring Prince, though it never came to pass.

The cover is the eighth in Cribb's year-long project, in which the is releasing monthly punked-up do-overs of classic songs from the long-running animated series. Last month's effort featured Ball Park Music's Jen Boyce, with previous collaborators including Jeremy Neale, Tyler Richardson of Luca Brasi, Alex Lahey and more.
