Following the success of his hugely-acclaimed Golden Globe-winning TV series, AtlantaDonald Glover is set to work on a new show, this time an animated adult comedy program of Deadpool.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor and rapper will write and executive produce the new show with his brother, Stephen Glover, while both will act as showrunners.

The ten-episode series will reportedly screen in 2018, but a cast is yet to be announced.

"With the success of Legion, we're looking forward to again partnering with Marvel Television to create a series that is bold, striking and entirely original."

The beloved comic book character hit mainstream audiences last year in the feature film starring Ryan Reynolds, which went on to gross over $US780 million at the box office.

A sequel is expected to hit cinemas worldwide in mid-2018.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that a second season of Atlanta has also been pushed back to next year so Glover can complete work on the upcoming Hans Solo Star Wars spin-off movie, in which he plays a young Lando Calrissian, though it is believed he has already written the new season.
