Holy. Shit.

After working on over 30 song ideas under his guidance, Perth rockers Small Town Heroes are set to finally hit the studio with revered producer John Feldmann and Blink-182 drummer, Travis Barker.

The quartet will commence working on their debut album, due out later this year, in the same LA studio that produced hits for Blink's 2016 Grammy-nominated album, California, as well as fellow Aussies, 5 Seconds Of Summer.

"John certainly likes to push barriers and break you out of your musical 'comfort zone', and the result has been beyond anything we have ever expected," bassist Stephen Beerkens said.

"Not only is he an absolute mastermind, he is such a kind, understanding man and our relationship and understanding of each other as songwriters/musicians is growing by the minute."

Feldmann, who is the frontman for US punk outfit Goldfinger and has also worked with the likes of The Used, Good Charlotte and Panic! At The Disco, first heard demos from Small Town Heroes last August and quickly started a dialogue with the band.

Following on from their acclaimed EP's, Set Free and Get Up, Get Out, the lads will now spend three weeks in the studio with Feldmann and engineers, Zakk Cervini and Matt Pauling, to work on the debut LP, all part of an initiative setup by Feldmann and Barker to nurture talented, hardworking and promising young acts.

"Everything has been flipped on its head and there is nothing we have wanted to do more," Beerkens said.

"We're super excited to share all our hard work with everyone that's supported us along our journey!"
