Tame Impala are threatening a Chinese company with a lawsuit for allegedly ripping off one of their hit songs in a new advertisement.

Frontman Kevin Parker shared a snippet of Mengniu Dairy Company’s ad on Instagram today, as noted by Music Feeds, which features a song clearly similar to the band’s 2015 track, The Less I Know The Better.

"I mean COME ON guys at least put some effort in," Parker captioned the video with the hashtags, #Lawsuit and #nowitsmyturn, while also tagging in Sony ATV Publishing.

It's believed that the lawsuit hashtag is referring to the incident in which Tame Impala were accused of sampling '70s funk group Skull Snaps' It's A New Day on their song, Eventually.

According to South China Morning Post, the inner-Mongolian-based company, which is also the country’s second largest dairy producer, posted a net loss of 751 million yuan (US$109 million) last year.

Sony ATV Publishing have since confirmed to The Music that they do not publish Tame Impala’s music in China.

The Music has contacted Tame Impala’s management for comment.
