The man accused of urinating on a fellow punter at a Spiderbait gig has denied the allegations in court today.

According to Herald Sun, Joel Ryan Morrison fronted Melbourne Magistrates' Court and denied urinating on the alleged victim, Belle Nolan, during the concert at 170 Russell last February.

Though Morrison's lawyer, Michael McNamara, reportedly said the case against his client is weak, Nolan has urged the prosecution to push forward with the case.

"I would imagine they wouldn't be considering (dropping the charges) at all," Nolan said.

"I'm pretty sure they're taking it as seriously as I am."

Morrison was seen leaving the venue on CCTV footage, however McNamara said the incident is a case of mistaken identity.

"The police case isn't going to get any better," McNamara said.

Morrison is facing charges of unlawful assault, offensive behaviour and behaving in a disorderly manner in a public place.

Spiderbait addressed the allegations in August last year and described the incident as "awful and disgusting behaviour".

"Belle, we applaud you standing up and taking action," a statement released by the band on Facebook reads.

"This type of behaviour is absolutely not to be tolerated!!! We are going to stop at NOTHING to find this creep."
