Parlour Gigs is taking on the world.

Thanks to an insanely-successful 2016, music booking platform Parlour Gigs is set to hit the global market, with plans to expand into New Zealand and the US over the next 12 months.

The Aussie music start-up dubbed as the "AirBnB of live music", which allows anyone with a space to book an artist, sell tickets and host an intimate show, has seen growth of 680% in the past six months after launching an app last May

"This growth is largely attributed to more and more established artists using the platform to connect with fans in a new way," Parlour Gigs co-founder Matt Walters said.

Co-founder Glenn Luck added, "We've built this business from the ground up – focusing on facilitating one great experience at a time for music lovers and artists."

Part of the Parlour Gigs model is ensuring that artists are paid properly and through the sale of tickets, the musician takes home 80% of the profits, as well as any merchandise sales.

"The simple fact is   that when you buy a ticket to a Parlour gig at your friend's house   you are supporting live music," Walters said.

"When you host a gig   you are doing even more. You are a part of change.

"Our mission is to create a new middle class of full time creatives. Artists that can afford to refine their craft full time   and support themselves and a family while they're at it. We’re about empowerment."

Parlour Gigs will expand into New Zealand later this year, with an eye on hitting the US market in 2018.
