Flume Dominates Nominations At 2017 APRA Music Awards

As we step up to the 35th annual APRA Music Awards this April, APRA AMCOS have announced the 2017 nominations — led by ARIA-winning, Grammy-winning producer Flume.

The young Sydneysider has picked up four nominations this year — two a piece for Never Be Like You and Say It, which have each been nominated for Most Played Australian Work and Dance Work Of The Year.

Sia follows with three nominations this year (having already won seven APRA Music Awards) including Most Played Australian Work (Cheap Thrills) and Pop Work Of The Year (Alive and Cheap Thrills). 

Newcomers Amy Shark and Julia Jacklin have also picked up nods for the coveted Song Of The Year gong, with Adore and Pool Party respectively, going up against the likes of Tim Minchin (Come Home (Cardinal Pell)), Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds (Skeleton Tree) and DD Dumbo (Satan). In the Blues & Roots Work Of The Year category, newcomer and buzz act Tash Sultana has scored a nomination for Notion. 

The Rock Work Of The Year category sees The Rubens, Birds Of Tokyo, The Temper Trap, Thirsty Merc and Bernard Fanning all vying for the Award, while Hilltop Hoods has scored two nominations in the same category for Urban Work Of The Year (1955 and Higher).
