ARIA Charts Overrun By Hollywood As Film Soundtracks Dominate

Justin Timberlake, Reese Witherspoon, Ryan Gosling and more enter the charts

The likes of Justin Timberlake, Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Gosling have come crashing into the ARIA Charts this week as a number of film soundtracks debut and reach new peaks.

Eying off the top ten for several weeks, the soundtrack for Timberlake's Dreamworks flick, Trolls, has finally hit #1, while animated musical SINGfeaturing Matthew McConaugheyReese Witherspoon and John C Reilly - makes a leap to #3, closely followed by Disney’s Moana (#4).

The soundtrack to Disney’s latest animated gem was pieced together by Kiwi musician Opetaia Foa'i, who plays with South Pacific fusion group Te Vaka.

The only top 50 debut this week comes from the buzzing La La Land, with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone’s new hit landing #31.

George Michael fans continue to mourn the loss of the music icon, with a number of albums and singles remaining in the Album and Singles Charts after last week’s surge.

Michael’s Ladies & Gentlemen... The Best Of... has moved back into the top 10 for the first time since ’99.

After Starley’s buzzing single Call On Me rocketed up the UK Charts this week, a remix by Melbourne DJ Ryan Riback has cracked the top 10 in the Aus Singles Chart to sit at #8 after six weeks in the top 50.
